It looks good--no question--but it doesn't give you what those looks advertise: gameplay with the comfort and fluidity of an NES title. The controls feel sluggish. Firing doesn't mean you'll fire. Walking is slow. Jumping lacks flexibility, and doesn't feel responsive. Worse than any of that, there's a "runner" mechanic, where you are forced to move to the right without defeating the on-screen enemies. Just... unfortunate.. This is a fun action packed indie game that has a lot of replayability and fun roguelike elements. The game features a ton of playable characters, each feeling different and unique from one another! The game itself is a sidescrolling bullet hell platformer that is actually quite addicting. The gameplay is somewhat smooth and it leaves you wanting to always just play one more round. The graphics are visually good and all fit together nicely. I know that with the constant updates and support from the devs the game will only become more fun as it is more polished.I would highly reccommend buying this game when it is on sale, it scratches my itch for a new gungeon or binding of isaac type game. Thanks for updating the game!. fun, crazy, and non-stop action!this describes high noon perfectly. You are in a sidescrolling stage, with breaks called ambushes, you have three levels of ground to move up and down in and enemies just pour in from all over!you an dodge roll, jump, and fire your wep.You get multiple chars ( a few hidden) and each has a different weapon and special skill to set them apart. The action is very fast-paced. you need to have quick reflexes to make it through these wild stages!Good price, lots of quick fun to be had with this one.Recommend :3. High Noon Revolver is a fast paced, fun and at times (like ambushes or bosses) tense @D sidescroller with rogue lite elements, like purchasing items with varying effects and a cast of characters with unique fire types and special abilities. The game is really enjoyable and the constantly scrolling levels force you to quickly kill and grab what you can before the next ambush or boss. Kinda short tho and some builds (fara with homing, damage+grav and poison will destroy some bosses in seconds) are very OP. Although even after finishing i still want to try the other characters and item combos. And for those who like to beat their highshcore there is that aspect. I recommend the game and feel it fits the priceglitches and a thing: at the end credits I pressed b and it left the screen empty (character was gone). Pressing x still fired the weapon but I couldn't move. Shot Zeros lightning ball at the first area boss, lighting effect spread across the screen and i died. In area 3 I had to jump into the water to kill an enemy as he was out of range so that i could activate the ambush.. This is such a disappointment. It's just not very fun.. I am not sure what to say about this one folks. I liked the game from start to finish... in under an hour. Games like this one that have a large selection of guns and perks, (roguelikes), Live and die on the feeling of just-one-more-try-ness that they provide, and i was already getting that special feeling when all of a sudden the game credits rolled in victory. maybe i got lucky, and others will have a longer experience. It is strange to think that if i had only died on that last boss instead of killing it i would have left with a far more positive view on the game not knowing how many runs i might expect to have. bottom line, it was too short for me.. Just about 30 minutes in and already having a great time. The game is obviously inspired by Capcom's "SonSon" and plays like a manic version of that game. Similarities: controls make your character move left, right, jump, and drop, and firing can only be done forwards or backwards, stationary or during movement. There are three planes along which you can travel, and enemies may come either along those lanes (from either side) or may fly independent of them. Notable additions include a number of unlockable characters that feel like (and, in one case, literally is) Nuclear Throne characters, different strengths\/weaknesses, different guns, and a different active\/passive unique ability. There is a cumulative score based unlock system, which means even if you aren't good, you'll start getting new characters quickly. Finally, coins collected in game allow you to unlock items which essentially function as perks, giving new or improved abilities, or one time bonuses (like refilling life).I don't know how much content the game has - I haven't yet reached the first REAL boss (there are a number of short miniboss waves), but the game so far is cute, fun, more than a little twitchy, and definitely scratches my "one more time" itch. I suspect I'll be playing it for a good long while to come.
